안녕하세요 사람들! welcome back to the semi-half-monthly email of ya boi, uh, demon slayer. basically. elder swoleby. this one finna be a WILD ride. most the good stuff is in the teaching updates ;)
This week's summary! (for my TLDR folks)
☆ uh... the most important things i missed last week: the name of the email, about the geocache and the cave n stuff, the miner hymn, stealing a cigarette so someone wouldn't smoke it, made a chunk of big meat stew, .......coral reef........ , hiked mt garfield, (i am the water hero), STARTED TEACHING SOMEONE!
☆ monday night find anyone? if only they didn't get covid right after 
also uh... may have cast out an evil spirit... or sum
☆ had a funeral for sister bealer
☆ lost so many homies in transfers... this happens EVERY TIME
☆ one of our members in a retirement home invited like, 4 people to join our lesson. members are the best
☆ VERY spiritual lesson with our friend deadeye
☆ the elect persons house premonition
☆ in a nutshell, uhhh so i cast out an evi spirit, started teaching 3 people, had a VERY spiritual church tour where now our friend deadeye is GONNA get baptized soon, 3 other peeps committed to reading the BoM, our boi miner committed to live the WoW and wants to be baptized in june, and we found this guys roommate and the guy basically told the roomate to be taught AND told us he wanted to be baptized. in a nutshell. dang bro. insane.
☆ i have way too much power now. whoever decided to make me a leader........ what goin on up there in dey head????
Stories
- there was a dope cave / crevice i found the geocache in. SO lit. also, when hiking mt garfield, i brought 4 extra water bottles. everyone was like: bruh u finna die with all that extra weight, but then they all ran out of water and guess who has two thumbs, four extra water bottles, and supplied them and literally saved them the whole hike down?? dis guy hehehe
- so! when miner came to church last week, i forgot to ask the church dudes to do hymn 89, how great thou art, miners favorite song. but, we roll up, and there it is! first song there was! so cool!!
- stole a member's cigarette when they weren't looking. i am sneaky. you WILL live the word of wisdom. smoking's bad.
- so, i'm not gonna put this in teaching updates. i will, however, say a little about it here. we got our friend coral reef to church last week, and had a lesson with her after church with fellowship. we couldn't sit with her during sacrament meeting because we had to pass the sacrament and sing a musical number, and she thought we were being racist cuz she was black. uh........ no????????????? yeah. she was very very interesting. we also sang a very.... interesting hymn, which she did NOT agree with. she actually got up in the MIDDLE of our member bearing SUCH a sweet testimony, to go grab the hymnbook and question us about it. like,,,, straight up question us about it. she also hated nephi, for whatever reason. it was... tricky. day in the life of a missionary!!
- sister bealer went home, (died) so we had a funeral for her. twas epic. and sad. pics in the link, you WON'T regret it
- i am now the leader guy over all the content people post on our mission facebook page. they approve things with me, i have to have ideas, look at the stats and how we can do better, so much more responsibility. which i'm TOTALLY down for i LOVE it SO MUCH but uh i also have no clue who's idea it was cuz everyone who knows me.... knows me hahahaha

Teaching Updates
- highlander, deadeye, marker n ben, miner, sand, DJ Junior and kone, then heretic and hillbilly!!!
- okay, so we started teaching highlander the other week! he's awesome, said he would be baptized if he felt the message was true. AND! HE! WILL! talks a TON tho but hey it's all good stuff all good stuff
- deadeye: man, everything came together SO good for this one!! the fellowship we originally had fell through cuz their car broke, but the other ones were BEST CASE. one of them converted from deadeyes same religion, bore POWERFUL testimony. she felt the spirit SO much. she kept saying thank you so wholeheartedly over and over and over again. it was so good. she's also seriously considering baptism now!
- marker n ben! we started teaching them last monday night. they had a lot of great questions, and a huge desire to read the BoM! unfortunately, they also got covid RIGHT after that. re >:/ but we dropped off cookies and send em scriptures so we'll pick back up here very soon! oh, they also had an evil spirit in they house so i kinda just..... dedicated it and cast it out. so much of the Holy Spirit was felt after that:)) kinda fun tho!
- miner! committed to live the Word of Wisdom for a week. and said he wanted to be baptized in june!!
- sand! we met her when our member friends in a retirement home invited FOUR of her friends to our message. gave one of them a BoM and a chapter to read, (the others were either inactive members or not accountable whatsoever hahaha but all SUPER sweet i love them all), and when we came back she hadn't read it yet. she instead read FIVE OTHER chapters and had questions written down to answer! she then on the spot said she wanted to come to church the next day and drop her other one. thennnnn she got uber sick. heccin hecc. still awesome tho!
- DJ, Junior, and Kone! super awesome people, we gave them all a BoM and they all wanted to read it! we started teaching them during the 12 week, and now they starting to progress!! it's awesome!!
- heretic and hillbilly! not.... actually a heretic. sweetest nicest guy ever. just kinda went with his name, and the other one DEFINITELY is a hillbilly so.... alliteration is awesome hahaha anyway, we pulled up to heretics house and met hillbilly. heretic wasn't there, but hillbilly called him, and over the speaker phone heretic said he wanted to be baptized whenever we thought he was ready. THEN he told hillbilly he should listen to us cuz we knew what was up. it was so awesome. he also has the same last name as someone very special in my family, so it all fits together SUPER nice!!

My challenges for you

this is one of my fof scriptures, it'll prolly be on next weeks email. go read it rn then come back
hold fast. that doesn't just mean to grab it, but to keep holding on. that's not to say that the temptations and fiery dart will not get to us, just that they won't overpower and lead us to lead to destruction. they can still getcha tho, so be careful! don't let your guard down.
