сәлем адамдар! welcome back to the semi-half-monthly email of Elder Smithity, the mechanic. also known and named by Elder Hassard: fix-it-fredrick. i have accepted my fate. i have helped fix way too many nerf guns, and have also moved onto ceiling fans. hm.
this email should honestly be #50. i missed one week in the MTC im so sorry:(((
This week's summary! (for my TLDR folks)
☆ when one sock do be wet so you have to wait for it to dry
☆ i have fixed so many nerf guns. they just keep getting more and more complex. why does a nerf gun need 50+ screws in it??

☆ helped a hoarder accumulate a LOT more stuff... kinda rip but MAN i miss service. moved quite a few heavy things. yes, this probably should worry you after hearing about the shoulder.

Stories
- first off. as i sit here, typing, i have both shoes on and only one sock. why, you might ask? simply because our socks have to match our shoes or our pants, and my black shoes committed sepuku so if i want to wear my tan pants i have to wear my tan socks. and i only have one pair that i got from bishop last week if you remember the crazy sock story. and i really wanted to wear my tan pants, but i was missing one tan sock. i found it down in the washer, still SOPPING wet. heh. i was too stubborn to change, so its drying down there.
update: it has been an hour, we have to go shopping, and the sock is still damp. rip. now i have to go to walmart in wet sock >:/ #wetsocksquad is back tho

- i have become the mechanic around here. i seem to know how to fix things naturally? a ceiling fan, literally everything in my last apt, the bunker, and literally any nerf gun. our friend the sniper had a big brand new one break recently. i took it apart, and let me just say. these new ones are SO much more complex than the old ones. but hey, i figured out the problem, and know how to fix it. once they 3d print a new gear 
Elder Hassards nickname of "Fix-It-Fredrick" becomes more and more true every day.
- REMEMBER IN MY LAST EMAIL WHEN I SAID PRAY FOR PANCHO CUZ HE GOT LOST????? HE GOT STOLEN DAWG. LITERALLY. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO please, mucho oracions for him and his family 
- went to go contact this lady. she wasn't feeling well, and her son was in a big rush to get us out of there after knocking like 7 times and waiting got 15 mins. (hey, we're missionaries. were persistent, bros. this stuff is molto impotante). but, saw a cool porcelain pig and got to ride in an elevator. it was a fun time.
- i did some cool family history work! there's a non-member who works at the center with one of our favorite old ladies, sister deeds, so we stopped by to get to know her and do some work! i found evidence of an ancestor when all they previously had was his name. and not even his full name! just his first and middle initials and his last name. after much digging, we can now baptize this man for the dead!!!!!! so cool.
- i jacked up my shoulder. not sure how. it hurty when i raise it. all the times i made fun of jimo and his hurt arm from the camel accident.... all the high fives he couldn't reach..... it's come back to haunt me.
- so, a lot of ghirardelli chocolate actually has green tea in it to preserve freshness. who knew? we sure didn't, after eating a lot of it. not all ghirardelli chocolate does but... be careful.
- so, we FINALLY found a service opportunity helping move some furniture! it was great, until.... we realized that the poor lady already had her house cluttered from top to bottom. like a maze in there. we still helped of course, but it was tricky haha. the lady who gave her the stuff used to be a hoarder, but was trying to change and get rid of all her stuff. so anything she offered... our friend wanted it. and the other one wanted to get rid of it. symbiotic relationship, i guess? nevertheless, still service, still helping. hope that smoker treats her well!!
- we gave a blessing to a lady who we just found out recently tested positive for covid. no symptoms tho.... so oh well? we'll see?
- we almost got to help the hermanas with a washer and dryer. then we didn't:((( if you know me, you know i love to say that i like lifting heavy things. and i'm service deprived. AND i love moving people and things. but alas, the noodle-armed zone leaders got the privilege. rip. (kidding of course, love those elders hahahaha)
- i just miss the song bohemian rhapsody. that is all. i recently learned i can hit the high note in it. finally toe to toe with elder mclain hassard hehehehehe
- our downstairs heater does not work anymore. it is always around 50-something when we get down there. upstairs ones still work tho!
- i got to go to the black canyon again!!! big mountains. i was in heaven. we painted rocks, and guess what i painted? said mountains 
and a real heart. happy valentines day!!
Teaching Updates
- we had Berry, and Kho and Co to church! it was awesome, i honestly never thought i'd see kho and co at church at the same time, cuz usually one of them is at their moms. but it was super great to see Berry again, we missed her a bunch. and she missed us too!
- last week i think i mentioned about how we're trying to extend one baptismal invitation a week now. well, elder bales and i had not yet, and there was a lady who said she wanted to receive a video from me about all Christ has done for us! so, i talked about the Atonement, His gospel, and how He was baptized so we could be clean! and invited her to be baptized. and she said she enjoyed the video and wanted to learn more! who knew if we just acted and were bold that good things would happen, right? that may not always be the case, but we are promised that we will be blessed even for extending the efforts:)))
- Fly fisherman is.... the way he is. even tho he's back on date, he did some pretty dumb stuff, which i will not mention. let's just say we brought the sisters some cookies.
- had an AMAZING phone call with deb bruh last night! read like 3 chapters of the Book of Mormon with her, and it was great. her health concerns make it so we can't meet or call too often, but hey, what contact we do sporadically have is always amazing!
- not much new with our other peeps. although, might have another potential too! cod fillet is a cool homie who wanted a Book of Mormon. he's dating our member's daughter, comes to church every week, and is just... a homie!! good times:)

- my amazing Aunt Nancy! she responds to like, every one of my emails. which means a lot. recently she told me: "I pray for you everyday that you can find people to teach and then baptize. I know you are working hard. I love you! Make everyday count

- my momma. my valentineeeeee! happy valentines day to the most amazing, Christlike, beautiful lady i know. you are my favorite person ever, mom. i hope you know that i look up to you always, and that i cannot and will not ever be able to express just how much you mean to me.
and to all the girls back home, waiting for me, that most definitely exist and are real people, yup that's the truth, happy valentines day cause there is definitely... people back there. yup. as b-bubs himself, the absolute legend says, "i love you girls... but it's time to say goodbye". heh. valentime
My challenges for you
- if you receive revelation, write it down! if you have a cool thought, write it down. Mosiah 26:33, go look it up! then since you'll already be on your phone presumably, or at your scriptures, write down what you get from it!!
