so, i was extremely bad at journaling this week. like it's never been this bad before. i ALWAYS journal. so, anyway, might be a bit shorter this week haha u lucky ducks

Stories

- so, Merry Christmas! I got some dope ties, an apron, gel pen highlighters, and enough candy to last me a decade. i may still be finishing the candy my mom sent me for Easter, so that is an extremely valid statement. what'd you get?

- we did some very fun service for Christmas! made notes and cookies for people, and tried to visit some peeps. not much there, as to be expected, but we got some fudge dropped off and delivered, and some cards and cookies made!

- i've been friend requesting this guy named dab man for months on end now. just deleting and re-requesting every week. and HE FINALLY ACCEPTED. his profile is very..... empty. his profile picture and cover photo are, respectively, a road sign INSIDE of a portapotty, and the same road sign OUTSIDE of a portapotty. ladies and gents, we have found us an elect.

- went to our bishops house for Christmas dinner. had crab for the first time, as well as... escargot. there is a very funny video of me almost throwing up in the google photos. you'll wanna see it

- it's been so heccin windy over here. like blow-the-cover-off-your-window-well heccin windy. (which did happen to us lol) our apt complex basically acts as a wind tunnel, so nights have been pretty fun! ofc, I slept through it all, but it do be kinda spooky  the big tall sonic sign got YOINKED by the wind. as well as many people's santa decorations. rip santa

Teaching Updates

 - some cool things for this week!

-BR&S! mostly everyone was out of town this week, but they stayed. AND GOT US A CHRISTMAS PRESENT. nerf guns, so we could battle with S. so lit. and in return, we have them some fudge, and a baptismal plan! BR immediately started looking at everything she needed to do, and basically committed to doing it! it was so awesome.

- N got us Christmas presents too! she knew we had wanted advent calendars, but couldn't find any. so, even tho it was 25 days late, she got us some. it was so fantastic, i love our friends!

- so, when we were at N's house for Christmas eve, WE got a call from a former, instead of it being the other way around! she said she was just calling people cuz she didn't have anyone around for christmas. man, talk about a heartbreaker. so sad, we asked if we could give her some fudge and a card the next day, and she accepted! we met her the next day, leaving from our dinner on Christmas for a few mins, said a prayer with her, and she was so grateful! she was pretty set on keeping meeting with us, which is hype! Christmas success!

Spotlight

- so, i'm taking a virtual page out of Elder Jardmans email for this, but,

- everyone on this email list has impacted me, one way or another. i love you all so much! i just barely went through my entire email list, looked at all of your names, and thought of you. so if you're reading this, yes, it's for you! i love you!

- my family! i love you all. extra prayers for them rn tho please 

- Shoutout to FOMBA! love you big time bro!

- ofc, Kaela and Ila as well:)) Fomba just gets his own this time cuz idk if he ever has hehe. love you all!

- Gusti and Lucy! finally got to meet my bro's gf, lessgoooooo

- Sister Cole and Sister Little. cuz i saw them at walmart. good times, great homies

- shoutout to the district. i love having friends  y'all make me happy, even if none of you are on this email list and will ever see this

My challenges for you

- give someone, anyone, a compliment if they haven't gotten one in a while, or if you've never given them one, or if they look like they need one. compliments go a long way, and they're hard to forget:) so be unforgettable!

Every minute, every moment...there was Jesus.

- so i just happened to be at the perfect place in the Book of Mormon the other day to read exactly when Christ came into the world from the perspective of the people who lived in the americas! Jesus tells Nephi that tomorrow, He comes into the world. to fulfill all things. the hardest things.

3 Nephi 1:

" 13 Lift up your head and be of good cheer; for behold, the time is at hand, and on this night shall the sign be given, and on the morrow come I into the world, to show unto the world that I will fulfill all that which I have caused to be spoken by the mouth of my holy prophets.

14 Behold, I come unto my own, to fulfill all things which I have made known unto the children of men from the foundation of the world, and to do the will, both of the Father and of the Son—of the Father because of me, and of the Son because of my flesh. And behold, the time is at hand, and this night shall the sign be given. "

Christ came into this world to save us. i often forget about the story of His birth throughout the rest of the year. i think about Him, worship Him, study Him, do everything i'm supposed to, but... yeah i really don't remember the story of His birth often. but it is so. dang. important. if that didn't happen, then what Atonement would have been completed? how many deaths would now sting? how would we ever know what we need to do to get back to God. this moment was so important, and everything had to happen perfectly. the angels appearing to Mary and Joseph. the taxing, and warnings, and them having to travel all the way to Bethlehem. the inn's being full, so Christ could be born in a private, Holy place. the star, the night of no darkness, the angels, sheppards, wisemen, everything proclaiming JUST how Holy this event really was. He came into this world to save us all. and this is how He came into it. and that, my dear friends, is just why it's so important.
