hello people! (but in another language) welcome back to the semi-half-monthly email of Elder Smith, who by dictionary definition MAY be a chipmunk.

i have 18 minutes left. hm. this one'll be really short and dumbed down. y'all are in luck! not a novel this time. expect a huge one next week ;)

This week's summary! (for my TLDR folks)

☆ combined zone conference!!! with visiting authorities Elder and Sister Kyungu, and Elder and Sister Valenzuela!!!!

☆ i have "bright eyes" and i'm "shining" 

☆ got a text from the AP's... about Elder Kyungu coming on a lesson with us?????

☆ my new job

☆ E Canales is really funny, in spanish

☆ played volleyball with a bunch of peeps who don't speak english, but we found a way to communicate

☆ the most awesome service opportunity, made wreaths for forgotten veterans graves - miracle, toes and knee werent frozen by the end of it

☆ Christmas party

Stories

- so, Elder Valenzuela and Elder Kyungu of the 70 visited our mission. it was great! Elder Kyungu told me I was bright and shining, so never let me stop doing that, okay? okay!

- we also got a text from the AP's saying Elder Kyungu wanted to join us for a lesson with a friend. we got N to join, which was awesome! but her and the fellowship are really mad that she can't be baptized, and our 80 year old fellowship kinda talked about it very forcefully a lot with Elder Kyungu. hehe. oops. but it was great! i got to teach a lesson with him so best case

- I post on our mission pages story 3 times a week. if you see a story on facebook it's me every time! i'm weird. I like responsibility. hehe. 

- our friend bro SF is addicted to gambiling, and apparently the people at the gas station call him lotto daddy. heh. I like that.

- this awesome elder named Elder Canales is really funny in spanish apparently. i don't speak spanish, but everyone else who is at the spanish volleyball laughs a lot. (hes also funny otherwise, no shade no shade)

- at the volleyball, we had some of our friends join us, and the hispanic people didn't speak english, but i gave a bunch of good serves in a row and they kept saying "uno mas!!" so, we found a way to communicate. it was great.

- christmas party was great! i made german chocolate chocolate chip cookies, and put peppermint bark on top as well. so, it was great.

- i needed to get eye drops, went to the store, bought them, came home, realized i forgot the eye drops at the checkout aisle, and had to go back. my brain no worky at all. hm.

- made some good fudge. delivered it to the sisters for our desert war, cuz they gave us cream puffs. best case.

- bowled the best i ever have today, with a total of 122! still got creamed by everyone else, but i'm proud of it. also won around the world basketball! I am an athlete, apparently.

Teaching Updates

 - literally nothing new this week. big sad, getting Bro SF to stop smoking is tricky, but we're doing it! met some awesome people, but basically BR is right on track for baptism, N should move out soon which will let her be baptized, (finally) and yeah! good times!!

My challenges for you

- be bright and shining this week!!! 

Every minute, every moment...there was Jesus.

- we made a bunch of little bows (pronounced as in "ow") for veterans' graves. then delivered them. I knelt down at every grave to say a prayer, in the snow. the miracle was that my knee got so cold it got numb, so it didn't bother me, just had to push through, and then my toes were not cold anymore either. is that not how it is with God? we just have to push through and He will make it easier for us. think about that
