This week's summary! (for my TLDR folks)
☆ it snowed for the first time down here! i love it so much
Stories
- Not a whole lot of time for this email unfortunately. so, i'll just tell the most important and fun stuff!
- i made spaghetti squash, and every time the recipe mentioned the squash itself, it called it it's "flesh" grazie lo detesto
- let me know if cinnamon rolls can be classified as donuts. this is very important. i promise. think about it hard
- went to a members house for thanksgiving! they got up at 3 am to start smoking the turkey. 3. am. it was one of the most fantastic meals i've ever had in my entire life. it was so good. wow. they were so excited to feed missionaries that they bought brand new tupperware just to send us with leftovers!
- played volleyball as a finding technique one night, a bunch of non members there, and then at our district activity today we played more. my elbow is wrecked, so are my knees because my reaction is always to kick the dang ball, and my arms are marked. permanently? who knows!
- i was gonna miss decorating my family's christmas tree this year, but one of our members who has arthritis in his feet called us over to decorate his! tender mercy for real! and he had a bunch of SICK guitar ornaments!!
- we were asked to film a hype video for our zone. it was so epic. will be in the google photos album, you do not want to miss it
- our district activity was so fun! we exchanged white elephant gifts, i got a fake gun, a stuffed bear i named marcello, trail mix, and a police badge. i gave out this tiny top hat and giant sunglasses. good times!
- if you're lactose intolerant, dont. just don't. it hurts. a lot. trust me dude, i'm a doctor. yikers!
Teaching Updates
- not much news here unfortunately!
- N! is still amazing. she made us a pie and sent us an awesome text about when she's baptized. pray it can come soon!
- Br&S! nothing new on this one either. but she is working through some stuff, and really wanted to go to a baptism!!! so that's very exciting :)))
- Ca. might be a drop. bashed a lot. then gave us pie! but yeah. we shall see.
- the H's! they're great. also gave us pie. but the wife is very much into general conference, and i see things going very far.
- so two guys named 'mike'. one of them was very political but talked to us for forever, after we knocked on his door by accident. it was not the right house. oopos! showed us his chrysler prowler tho, so that's real cool. he started talking about the bible and how its had many translation errors, so i brought up the Book of Mormon and how it was only translated once, an it was by the power of God, so it was very correct. he changed the subject immediately and started talking about our shoes. oh well, cant get em all.
- the other mike is catholic and just walked into our church wanting to come to church. he said his wife is a member, he lives here, and he really likes wine coolers. but we don't have any records of his wife at all, and had to switch him off through like 7 different sets of missionaries. it was crazy. oh well tho!
