to start off with a story....

Once upon a time...
If far off kingdom there was a boy named Kobo. He as a young lad had many a hardships, but he always overcame the trails with the help of The Lord our God. Kobo had always been a bright light on the hill for all to see. He inspired all through the songs of his great adventures. But even now the one and Only Kobo faced his greatest adventure yet, he sought to bring others to the Lord.

🌈Stories🤌

- so, for those of you who know me well, you know i dont particularly like spiders. or really most bugs. im totally okay if i know where they are, but if they sneak up on me? i may or may not get a little bit spooked. they just creep me out, yk? i think theyre fascinating, but yeah. not a huge fan of the creepy crawlies. anyway, i was about to get in the shower, and lo and behold, i look upon the side of the tub and theres a nasty one. yuck. i HATE feeling the cruch and the legs.,,.,.,...,,,.,.,., (blech im cringing just thinking about it) whenever i pick them up with toilet paper or anything, so i waited. it crawled up the tub and i decided to blow on it real hard to launch it into the water, where it drowned. i picked it up with a drain cover we had chillin in there for whatever reason, (elder apartments. dont even get me started on all the random crap youll find in there), and tried to throw it in the trash. i missed, horribly, totally living up to my namesake, and kinda just left it shriveled up on the floor there. i showered, feeling as if i had a spider on me every 5 seconds, and when i got out... IT WAS GONE. THE DANG THING CAME BACK TO LIFE AFTER MOST DEFINITELY BEING DEAD FOR A GOOD FIVE MINUTES. trust me. i checked. taking NO chances here. anyways, i went on with getting ready for the day, and then told Elder Bales about my zombie friend. he found it crawling around underneath the mat and crunched it with some tp an threw it away. my knight in shining armor ðŸ¥° the saddest part is i thought i was finally over the whole spider thing. from crawling underneath a house and putting insulation under it, to literally letting one crawl on my hand to deposit it outside, i definitely thought it was over. oh well. feel free to make fun of me heh.

- we now wake up a good 45 mins early for seminary every wednesday morning, and i know at least a few people who'll be very jealous. hehe. but that brings us to our next bulletpoint, defog your windows. i could not see anything the whole drive there. was not prepared. oops. word to the wise, plan ahead heh.

- i got to drive up to my old area for the new missionary orientation! it was awesome, i got to see Elder Hassard and lots of other close missionary friends, and yeah it was a good time! also snuck out to quench cuz it's free on fridays ;) y'all know i love soda ðŸ˜Œ but on the way back, i definitely thought i knew where i was going and was on the freeway to denver until i realized the terrrain did NOT look all too familiar. so..... little 30 minute detour ðŸ˜…😅 confidence is good kiddos, but dont be stupid like ya boi ðŸ™ƒðŸ™ƒ

- we have a whack backyard, it literally looks like green felt was hammered into the ground back there. we hadn't gone out there actually until about two days ago? and there was a dead mouse. just chillin. no idea how it got there, or why it decided to die on our back porch. rip in pieces ðŸ˜ªðŸ˜”

- so, this ones extremely awkward and may give a few laughs. i would recommend reading it. me and Elder Bales had a member lesson, right? we scheduled it a day or two out, and confirmed that day as well. they had to move it from 6:30 to 8, which was fine by us! at 8, we go to their house. none of the lights are on, so we missed it a few times assuming we would recognize it. we eventually found it, they live in a big ol rich neighborhood so they got a huge driveway and we parked at the bottom in somewhat of a ditch. one you could easily get out of, but a little down there. anyway, we went up and knocked, thought we could see a tv going on which would explain the no lights. they werent home, so we sent them a text and waited in the ditch in our car by their driveway to see if we could get a text back. about 10-15 minutes pass and Elder Bales asked what we should do? i said we should wait simply 5 more minutes then head out. some cars drove by, and we were feeling pretty awkward. kinda hunkered down, did some facebook work. right as we were about to leave, some more cars start coming and we're like 'oh no! more cars!' and Elder Bales says "wouldnt it be funny if that was them?" it was.the two cars pulled into the driveway, and we didnt quite know what to do. we gave the guy a call, no answer. they got out of the cars, and then spent about the next 25 minutes doing a lot of things. checking the cars, having a kid sit up on a trunk and checking his legs? all sorts of things. we dont think they saw us when they pulled in, and we tried very hard not to be seen. put our seats down and everything to avoid the now very awkward confrontation that would have insued. we couldnt have left, then they would have seen us. we tried calling and texting and got nothing. getting out of the car was out of the question. so we waited, and leaned wayyyyyy back to try our hardest not to be seen. eventually, one of the cars left. they didnt see us. we drove away. yikes. theres the play by play. i copied part of this from our reporting on area book, so thats why some of it might sound confusing. didnt wanna type it all out again. hope you enjoyed!

- when we first moved in, some of the sisters nearby brought us these delicious pumpkin squares! i of course made some of my cookies for district council, and then the cycle started. we had to bring their plate back, and they then gave us more cookies. we were planning on a way to get them back when we got some very sad news. we asked for some olive oil to make pumpkin seeds to give to them, and they said they weren't sure if they'd be home to give it to us. we of course said no worries, and then they sent us a voice clip that sounded kinda sad and said "hey nvm our night is completely open now", so we were slightly concerned. went over, and found the 3 of them all basically in tears. we were like wHAT THE HECK, and turns out one of the awesome friends we had just made is getting emergency transfered. after only like, a week. we didn't tell them we were making the pumpkin sees, but aftertalking to them a little bit we went and made the seeds, then brought them back, along with some cookies because the pumpkin seeds didn't turn out exactly the way i wanted them to. i thought they were bad, but, turns out, the sister who was leaving actually LOVES pumpkin seeds. and really enjoyed them. so maybe they weren't so bad after all? we dropped the treats off, said goodbye, and yeah. our good friend Sister Cole is still in the zone, but it will be sad not having her in the district anymore. such a homie. anyways, the sisters got us back yesterday with some donuts, so i'm making candy corn brownies tomorrow or tonight to get em back. the dessert war continues.

- me and Elder Bales at church yesterday got asked by a member if we sung! we both do, so we joined the christmas choir! the festivities have begun ;)

♥️Teaching Updates♥️

 - honestly, unfortunately, not much new this week. our inactive friend dipped on us for church again, and our referral hasn't gotten back to us no matter how much we reach out. C is still in the halfway house/jail thing so he can't really meet with us. we almost called him one night but he bailed last minute. the only other person we're teaching is N.

- N is our favorite. she is AMAZING. she already pays tithing. comes to church every week. listens to general conference talks when she goes on runs. says things like "when i am baptized". i wish we could. everything happens for a reason right? all i can ask is for y'all to pray that she both has the faith to get everything done that she needs to, and to get it done quickly!

-alright, theres this sweet old lady, and we went over to do service for her. her son tho, was the sweetest, cutest, nicest person i think i may have ever met. he was so stinkin arodable. he was probably around 30-40, but oh man. he was so appreciative, and kind, and felt SO bad that we were out doing service in the rain. (but if you know me you know theres no other weather id rather do it in) and yeah. he offered us like A HUNDRED BUCKS for doing service in the rain for like, an hour. just trimming a rose bush. like sheesh. he tried SO hard to give it to us, but ofc, we didn't take it. testified to him of why we do service, and i testified personally of why i do service. it makes me not have the big sad, primarily. but yeah. this story is in teaching because that man WILL be baptized. mark my words. he lives in arizona, was just visiting, but he was the sweetest most elect man ever. okay, im done now ðŸ˜…

- i really wish there was more teaching and spiritual stuff this week. i will try my hardest to do it next week tho! this section will be so stacked y'all will have to spend all week reading it. just kidding. i won't do that to you, even tho i already do. i got inspired from a good friend to write long emails. i'm actually quite enjoying it :P

☀️Spotlight☀️

- Of course, my amazing sister. just had a baby. i cannot mention it enough. love you so much kaela!!!!!

Logan! Love you mucho buddy, just in case you didn't know ;)

- Jericho! I have missed you buddy. keep on KILLING IT

- Chloe! once more. she is not in lebanon anymore, my b. french friend now!

🔥My challenges for you🔥

- I want you to go out, and have a genuine conversation with a stranger. walmart? best case. gas station? even better! on the street? oh man, you're KILLING IT!! but heres the catch. make them feel SO DANG good about themselves. compliment them in some way. brighten their day. especially if they look like they're not having such a great day. use common sense of course, and if this makes you extremely uncomfortable, then try and start out by making eye contact and smiling at someone. y'all have no idea the difference it can make to the saddest person, or even the happiest! do it :) or else :)))))))))))))))

⚓Every minute, every moment...there was Jesus.⚓

- there must needs be an opposition in all things. we wouldn't know happiness if we hadn't ever experienced sadness. we wouldn't know true joy and forgiveness if we never experience anger and frustration. it's the CHANGE that matters. we must experience the heartaches and pains of life to know how much joy we can truly have. and that joy, my friends, comes from Christ. the challenge for today is to be like Him. and He was the most loving out of anyone. i can honestly tell you i have experienced some pretty bad lows. but i've also been able to recognize the highs as well. even when things get discouraging, we MUST focus on the positive. we have to. it makes everything SO much better. I love you all.
