🌈Stories🤌
- alright, so we got called last p-day while we were at walmart, and the lady on the other end sounded ike she really needed our help. super professional, super stressed out, and she was not very clear on what we would be helping out with. we went over there blindly, and found out that we were working on basically building a modular house. this lady is extremely charitable and nice, and lets as many homeless people live on her property as possible. most of them have rv homes or something of the sort, and they all seem to do a lot of drugs. most of them were very friendly tho! we lifted a lot of heavy stuff, moved a LOT of trash, because the two modulars we were putting together were very very dirty and torn down. feces everywhere. the people who came and helped out were the best, including the.... ah...... people on a higher plane than us. but without the "er plane" in all sorts of the sense. either way, i felt the spirit there immensely. even with all the trash everywhere, it basically looked like a dump. but if you try and look for the spirit in things, you will always find it.
- theres this really popular local place called starvin' arvins nearby, apparently the owner is in our ward! he gave us two free meals, and when they asked if we wanted pancakes, toast, or a cinnamon roll we got the cinnamon roll expecting a normal sized cinnamon roll ya know? (i just said cinnamon roll way too much but idc) and they gave us two GIANT heccin rolls. they were easily as big as my head. will have photos included in the google photos this week, which seems to be working again!
- weve started working with the bishops of both of our wards to try and reactivate some inactives, and one of them we visited was..... not too receptive. he opened the door, said this wasnt a good time because it was late, (it was 7:20), and when we asked if there would be a better time he said "no!" and shut the door. no worries tho, now we know that the bishop should not visit him! that do be the mission life, and ive encountered MUCHO worse on facebook. was very interesting tho, a good milestone for sure!
- theres these awesome nonmembers we did service for a while ago, they were super nice and invited us back to come visit! we did, and they definitely will not be joining the church because they believe every single religion to be true, but man they are AMAZING. we had some amazing discussion, and at the end we all held hands in a circle and prayed together. definitely never done that before, but it was fun! then the wife grabbed some lavender infused oil, marked a cross on each of our foreheads, and gave us a blessing. it was honestly so sweet. it was such a beautiful prayer, and it was so sweet. they were so loving, and i cant wait to go back! maybe not to teach them, but just to feel great!
- i say this often but i started writing a great song and it might be my most favorite one yet. wont be able to develop it to where i want it to be at all until im off the mish, but maybe ill leave an acoustic version on facebook sometime soon ;)
- we did a lot of fun service this week! a great one was taking an hour out of our p-day to help someone move. he really needed the help, and wouldve done it all by himself if we hadnt come. but as well, after staining an entire giant playground, pulling so many goatheads that my bloody hands might not ever recover, and you know, the whole crackhead thing, i can cconfidently say i do truly think service heals the soul. maybe not the sunburns i recieved because i forgot sunscreen again 😬
- we went to a pumpkin patch. yes it was magical, yes i picked out a cinderella lookin pumpkin cuz it was beautiful, and yes i will be carving a lego angel moroni into it. already started on the head. lets go.
♥️Teaching Updates♥️
- D. she has had a rough life recently. we called her, said a prayer with her once, and thought she wouldn't call us back. but then we called her again, taught her the restoration, and she cried so muc. asked us if she could come to church as well! she wasn't able to make it, we got a ride and everything, but im very excited to keep helping her out.
- G!!!! man, what a miracle. i never thought i would see something like this happen in my mission, its like a dream. seriously straight out of Gods handbook. we got a text fromm our ward mission leader and he said someone in the ward had a co-worker that wanted to meet with us! we get these fairly often, and usually they answer whenever we call them with "no i dont know you" or "how did you get this number' or "why did you make spaghetti in my kitchen" (just kidding on that last one, to be clear 😂) but this was NOT the case at ALL with G. he was super excited to call us, was super cool, and asked if he could call us the next day. we did, and expected to just call him and get to know him a little bit. we ended up teaching the full restoration, he agreed with absolutely everything, and said when he was in high school he had a very interesting experience. he got knocked unconsious at a skate park, was told he was spasming, convulsing, foaming at the mouth, and when he woke up the paramedics were putting a blanket over the top of him to pronounce him dead. but he said while he was unconcious he talked to Christ, and He told him that our church was the correct one. we gave him a Book of Mormon later that day, and he said he was so excited to read it and that it would "fix the missing piece in his life" wow. talk about elect.
-M is getting baptized this week! we have loved teaching her, and i made my grandmas cookies for an object lesson once. so awesome!
- L is great. pray that she'll get her chickens sorted out lol
